Â
Syracuse will conclude its exhibition slate on Tuesday, Nov. 1, at 7 p.m, when the squad will face Division II Southern New Hampshire (SNHU) inside the JMA Wireless Dome.Â
Â
SETTING THE STAGE
The Orange look to extend their 24-straight exhibition victory streak. The last time out, Syracuse defeated Indiana (Pa.) at home on Tuesday night, 86-68.Â
Â
Southern New Hampshire was defeated by St. John's, 82-42, in an Oct. 29 exhibition. SNHU walked away from last season with an overall record of 13-11 and a 9-9 finish in the Northeast-10 Conference (NE10). In the first round of the NE10 tournament, its season was concluded with an 80-76, first-round loss to Saint Rose.
Â
Tuesday's matchup will be the second and final exhibition game for both teams.Â
Â
DEMI-DECADE
Tuesday night's game will be the second time in five years that SU and SNHU have seen each other in exhibition action. In their first-ever meeting, on Nov. 1, 2017, the Orange defeated the Penmen, 84-54.
Â
GETTING IN THE GROVE
After converting just 12-of-29 (.414) in the first half of action against IUP, the Orange found their footing and went on to shoot at a .613 clip (19-of-31) over the final 20 minutes. The second-half, come-from-behind win was sparked by freshman guard Judah Mintz and sophomore forward Benny Williams. Williams knocked down seven points and Mintz locked in five to jumpstart a 16-0 run for the Orange.
Â
FRESH FACES ON THE FLOOR
All five Syracuse freshmen saw eight minutes or more on the hardwood in the exhibition opener. Mintz (32 minutes) and Chris Bell (13) started for Syracuse, while Justin Taylor (18), Quadir Copeland (17), Maliq Brown (8), and Peter Carey (8) came in off the bench. Mintz led the newcomers with a double-digit outing of 14 points, Carey added seven points, and Brown grabbed four rebounds off the glass.Â
