Monroe Madness!

The Syracuse men's and women's basketball teams took the quick trip to Rochester to participate in "Monroe Madness" in front of an Orange-clad crowd at the Blue Cross Arena on Friday night.
Otto and the Syracuse Spirit Team also joined in on the event and "Voice of the Orange" Matt Park served as master of ceremonies.
LOCAL CONNECTION
The most notable connection between the Syracuse programs and the Rochester community also received the largest ovation -- Hall of Fame Coach Jim Boeheim. A native of Lyons, Boeheim was a scholastic standout before enrolling at Syracuse in 1962. Following a successful collegiate playing career, Boeheim embarked on a coaching tenure that continues to this day. He enters his 47th season as the winningest active coach in the Division I men's coaching ranks.
The women's team featured two former Rochester area players. Senior guard Dyaisha Fair played at Edison Tech and sophomore forward Saniaa Wilson was a prep standout at Bishop Kearney. Both players competed at Buffalo before transferring to Syracuse prior to the 2022-23 season.
First-year women's head coach Felisha Legette-Jack has had the Rochester area surrounded during her playing and coaching career. A Syracuse native, Legette-Jack starred at Syracuse and then opted for coaching. After rebuilding the Buffalo program, she returned to her alma mater in 2022 to take over the helm with the Orange.
