
Orange Set for Five Games at Tarleton Invitational

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Syracuse softball team will compete in the Tarleton Softball Invitation in Stephenville, TX this weekend in their second tournament this season.
The Orange will face four different non-conference opponents in the tournament. On Friday, Feb. 18 Syracuse starts the weekend with a match against Texas A&M - Corpus Christi at 1 pm and a match against Tarleton State at 6 pm. 'Cuse will then take on Texas A&M - Corpus Christi again at 10:30 am and Prairie View A&M at 3:30 pm on Saturday Feb. 19. The Orange will finish out the weekend with a matchup against Alabama State on Sunday Feb. 20 at 10 am.

Syracuse will head back to South next weekend for the Plainsman Invite in Auburn, Al. from Friday, Feb. 25 until Sunday, Feb. 27. The Orange will face Auburn, Bradley, Delaware State, and ULM.

ORANGE UPDATE
- Syracuse went undefeated in the Best on the Bayou Classic with a 5-0 record.
- The Orange scored 14 runs in the first inning of the game against Southern and had a total of 22 runs over the five innings of the match. Four different players homered in the opening drive.
- Fifth year Neli Cesares-Maher led the Orange with 3 home runs, 2 stolen bases, and 5 assists in tournament.
- Sophomore Angel Jasso hit for the cycle in the game against Southern. She also leads the offense with a batting average of .588.
- Freshman Tessa Galipeau started all five games for her Orange debut weekend.
- Fifth year pitcher Ariana Adams had eight strikeouts in the match against Mississippi Valley State, and sophomore pitcher Lindsey Hendrix had seven strikeouts in the game against Morehead State.
