RALEIGH, N.C. - Junior Jude Padilla had four RBI to help power Syracuse past NC State, 9-3, in the second game of the series. Sophomore Lindsey Hendrix (3-1) got the win on the mound for the Orange (10-5 overall, 1-1 ACC).

Padilla hit a two-run home run and earned two RBI on a fielder's choice to lead the Orange offense. Senior Neli Casares-Maher went 2-for-4, with a home run and an RBI. Sophomore Angel Jasso had two hits in five trips to the plate, including a double, and had two RBI.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Orange took a 3-0 lead in the second inning, including Jasso's two-RBI double, and added a fourth run in the top of the third on Casares-Maher home run. After the Wolf Pack (18-3 overall, 1-1 ACC) cut the lead in half in the bottom of the fourth, Syracuse responded with three runs in the top of the fifth to take a 7-2 lead. Taylor Posner singled up the middle to score Ryan Gallegos and then Padilla reached base on a fielder's choice that scored Posner and Casares-Maher.

In the top of the seventh, Padilla's two-run homer made the score 9-2. NC State managed one run in the bottom of the seventh to make the final score 9-3.

GAME NOTES

Padilla drove in four runs for Syracuse.
Every Syracuse starter reached base safely in the win.
Five Orange had multiple hits in the game, including three for Carli Campbell and Angie Ramos.
The Orange out-hit the Wolf Pack, 14-7.
Casares-Maher improved her hitting streak to seven games.
