
Three Make All-ACC Academic Squad

Three Orange starters were named to the All-ACC Academic Team on Tuesday, which honors players for their performance in the classroom in addition to on the field.
Brendan Curry, Brett Kennedy and Grant Murphy were selected to this year's squad. Curry (3x) and Kennedy (4x) are multi-year selections.
Curry, a three-time captain at SU, concluded his career as one of the most prolific scoring midfielders ever. His 94 goals out of the midfield were the seventh most by an SU middie ever. He earned a bachelor's degree in May of 2021 from the Martin J. Whitman School of Management and spent this year as a graduate student. This season, he finished with career bests of 34 goals, 19 assists and 53 points. He is a three-time All-American and was a member of the Tewaaraton Watch List this season. He was drafted in the second round of the PLL Draft earlier this summer, being selected by the Atlas Lacrosse Club.
Kennedy is one of the Orange's most versatile athletes, having played both LSM and close defense in his career. He earned a graduate degree in information management this year. He is also a graduate of the Martin J. Whitman School of Management. He finished his SU career with 59 career caused turnovers, which ranks fifth on the program's career list. A three-time All-ACC selection and three-time All-American, Kennedy was also a team captain this season. He was the No. 6 overall pick by the Chaos in the PLL Draft last month.
Murphy started every game at close defense in each of the last 31 contests of his career for SU. He concluded his career with 40 caused turnovers and 58 ground balls. He earned his graduate degree in Entrepreneurship and Emerging Enterprises from the Martin J. Whtiman School of Management.
Minimum academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one's academic career for undergraduate students. Athletic achievements during the most recent season are also considered in selecting the All-ACC Academic Team. The ACC Honor Roll, which recognizes all conference student-athletes with a grade point average of 3.0 for the current academic year, will be released in July.
