
Orange Tipoff! Fans Get First Look At The Orange

Syracuse fans received their first look at the 2023-24 men's and women's basketball teams at the annual Orange Tipoff held at the JMA Wireless Dome on Friday night.
The evening featured student-athlete competitions, fan participation and scrimmages for both squads.
The women's team played against a squad of students who regularly serve as practice opponents. The women's team won, 41-30. Dyaisha Fair had 15 points on five 3-pointers, Alyssa Lathan had eight points and Dominque Camp chipped in with seven.
On the men's side, the Blue team defeated the Orange squad, 36-20. The Blue squad was paced by Quadir Copeland, who had 11 points. Kyle Cuffe Jr. and Chance Westry each had six points for the Orange unit.
SHOOTING COMPETITION
Women's: Three-person squads need to make a layup, foul shot and 3-point shot. Once accomplished, the group that makes a half-court shot first, wins the competition.
Winning Blue Team: Kennedi Perkins, Alaina Rice, Izabel VarejaoÂ
Orange Team: Lexi McNabb, Alyssa Latham, Dominque Camp
Mixed 3-point Challenge:Each participant gets five shots from three different racks.

Both teams conducted media days in the afternoon at the Carmelo Anthony Basketball Practice Facility. Local media had the opportunity to interview student-athletes and coaches from both squads.
MONROE MADNESS
Syracuse will host Monroe Madness next Saturday, October 21, starting at 6 p.m. Tickets are on sale now at the Blue Cross Arena Box Office for $10, $20 and $35. A few courtside seats will also be made available for $50. Groups of 20, including youth groups, can purchase tickets for just $8 each in the lower level and groups of 100 can purchase tickets for $5 each.
