Orange Undefeated In Day Two At ITA Northeast Regionals

BOSTON, Mass. – The Syracuse University women's tennis team went undefeated in the second day of the ITA Northeast Regional Championships, hosted by Harvard University.

Day two of the competition saw four Orange wins. Anastasia Sysoeva, Polina Kozyreva, Shiori Ito and Ines Fonte won in the singles event to move on to the round of 16. Sysoeva defeated Yakoff (Harvard), Kozyerva won against Bakaityte (Buffalo), Ito was victorious over Karamyshev (University of Connecticut) and Fonte comfortably beat You (Harvard). All 'Cuse competitors will play tomorrow to continue tournament action.

Syracuse will be back on the court tomorrow, October 8 for day three of the ITA Northeast Regional Championships.

RESULTS:
Sysoeva def. Yakoff (HARV) 6-4, 6-3.
Kozyreva def. Bakaityte (BU) 6-4, 6-2.
Ito def. Karamyshev (UCONN) 7-6[3], 6-3.
Fonte def. You (HARV) 6-1, 6-2.
