Syracuse sophomore Judah Mintz is one of 50 players on the John R. Wooden Award Preseason Top 50 Watch List, which was announced today on ESPN's SportsCenter and ESPN.com.
The watch list is chosen by national college basketball experts. It is comprised of 50 student-athletes who are early runners for the Wooden Award All-American Team and Most Outstanding Player Award. Of the 50 players on the preseason list, 41 are upperclassmen, including 29 seniors.
Mintz is one of ten representatives of the Atlantic Coast Conference on the list.
The final 2024 Wooden Award ballot will feature 15 players. The Wooden Awards All-America Team will be announced the week of the NCAA Tournament's "Elite Eight" round. The winner of the 2024 Wooden Award will be presented in April.
Mintz is also on the preseason watch lists for the Naismith Player of the Year Award and the Bob Cousy Award. He is averaging a squad-best 23.0 points per game after the first two contests of 2023-24.
