Preseason All-American Oronde Gadsden, who suffered a season-ending injury in the second week of the season, will return to Syracuse for the 2024 season.
Gadsden broke Syracuse's single-season records in both receptions and receiving yards by a tight end in 2022, before suffering a Lisfranc injury that sidelined him for the remainder of the season on the first offensive play in week two against Western Michigan.
He'll enter his fourth season at Syracuse having already amassed 1,060 receiving yards, 70 receptions and seven touchdowns in his SU career.
He entered this season on the Maxwell and Biletnikoff Award Watch Lists, as a member of the Preseason All-ACC Team and an AP and Sporting News Preseason All-American before being sidelined just two weeks in. He was the top returning tight end nationally in terms of receiving yards entering the year.
Gadsden broke out as a sophomore. In addition to leading the nation in receiving yards among tight ends, he set the 'Cuse record for most receptions by a sophomore in addition to his positional program records.
Gadsden's announcement comes less than 24 hours after defensive captain Justin Barron announced he'd also be returning next season and on the heels of the Orange signing its highest ranked recruiting class in modern history under head coach Fran Brown.
