Syracuse (16-10, 7-8 ACC) is set to face its third-straight nationally ranked opponent Thursday night when the Orange travel to Tallahassee, Fla., to face-off against No. 24 Florida State (20-7, 9-5 ACC) at the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center. The game will be televised on national TV at 6 p.m. on ACC Network with Jenn Hildreth (play-by-play) and Debbie Antonelli (analyst) on the call.Â
Syracuse is 1-1 in this three-game stretch and looks to win its second game against a top-25 opponent this season on Thursday. The Orange lost, 73-64, at #10 Notre Dame on Sunday after an exciting 75-67 win over #14 North Carolina last Thursday. The UNC win marked the first top-25 win as Syracuse Head Coach for Felisha Legette-Jack.Â
Thursday night's matchup will feature the top two scorers in the Atlantic Coast Conference in FSU's Ta'Niya Latson (21.9 ppg) and Syracuse's Dyaisha Fair (20.2 ppg). Fair has 14 20-point games this season and has scored in double figures in all 26 games for SU this season. She's led the team in scoring on 19 occasions and has a team-high 4.3 assists per game.Â
Latson is one of three Seminoles averaging double figures. Her scoring average in ACC play dips to 18.6 points per game and she has played and started in all 27 games for FSU this season.Â
The Seminoles have lost back-to-back games for the first time this season, both of which were away from the confines of the Tucker Center. Florida State is 12-1 home this year.Â
Thursday is the 11th meeting in program history between the two with the series being tied 5-5. FSU won the last matchup, 73-67, a season ago when Teisha Hyman recorded her first double double of the season with 10 points and a career-high 13 rebounds.Â
Tip-off is slated for 6 p.m. on ACC Network.
Following Thursday's game, the Orange return home to host Miami at 1 p.m. on Regional Sports Networks (YES Network Locally). Five Orange players playing in their final home game this season will be celebrated in a post-game Senior Day ceremony so fans should stick around.Â
