Orange Lose At Clemson

Freshman guard Judah Mintz (23 points) collared a season-best four-of-four 3-pointers in Syracuse's (16-12, 9-8), 91-73, loss to Clemson (20-8, 12-5) on Wednesday night inside Littlejohn Coliseum.Â

Senior center Jesse Edwards (12 points, 10 rebounds) amassed his 12th double-double of the season, and senior guard Joseph Girard III tacked on 11 points for the Orange.

HOW THE GAME WAS DECIDED
Midway through the opening frame, Clemson effectively secured the matchup with a 14-2 run. Hunter Tyson accounted for over half of the Tiger's offensive effort (eight points) in the game-solidifying stretch and CU led 31-16 with eight minutes to play in the opening stanza. Clemson's advantage swelled to as many as 25 points in the Orange defeat.

TIGERS DOMINATION
The Tigers opened the night by putting 13 of the first 16 points on the board over the first four minutes of game time. Chase Hunter paced Clemson with six points, composed of two 3-pointers.

Syracuse countered with a 10-4 scoring stretch, Mintz contributed four points and Girard connected his first 3-pointer of the night. Freshman forward Quadir Copeland closed the run with a layup on the fast break to bring SU within three points of CU, 17-14, with 12:24 to play in the first. Copeland's basket was the smallest deficit for the Orange in the opening frame.
