Syracuse (16-12, 9-8) seeks to avenge its loss to Pittsburgh (20-8, 13-4) from earlier this season, as the two squads are set for their second campaign pairing on Saturday, Feb. 25 at 5:00 p.m.

SETTING THE STAGE
The Orange have won three of their last five matchups and are attempting to snap a two-game losing skid. The Panthers have won seven of their last eight contests down the stretch, most recently defeating Georgia Tech, 76-68, at home on Tuesday night.

SYRACUSE-PITTSBURGH SERIES
Saturday night's clash marks the 124th between Syracuse and Pittsburgh and the Panthers are SU's third most common opponent. The series dates back to the 1913-14 season and the Orange hold a 74-48 lead in the all-time series. Pitt has captured four of the last five pairings and recently edged the Orange, 84-82, on Dec. 20 inside the JMA Wireless Dome.

LAST TIME OUT
Syracuse lost at Clemson, 91-73, on Wednesday night despite a 23-point outburst from freshman guard Judah Mintz and a double-double performance courtesy of senior center Jesse Edwards (12 points, 10 rebounds). Edwards 12th double-double of the season slots the big man in a tie with Rakeem Christmas (12, 2014-15) for the second most in a single season across the last 10 campaigns.

ORANGE LEADERS
Mintz (1.9 spg.) and Edwards (2.8 bpg.) continue to pace the Orange defense, leading the league in steals and blocks, respectively. Senior guard Joseph Girard III is the leading scorer for the Orange and sits at seventh in ACC scoring average with 16.8 points per game.

SCOUTING THE PANTHERS
Junior forward Blake Hinson and graduate guard Jamarius Burton are Pitt's leading scorers and each averages 15.6 points per game. Hinson is 5th in ACC three-point percentage, sniping 38.5% of his shots beyond the arc, and leads the Panthers in rebounding with 6.2 boards per contest.

MCNAMARA AND WARRICK JERSEY RETIREMENT
Twenty years after playing a major role in Syracuse's first NCAA Basketball Championship, Gerry McNamara '06 and Hakim Warrick '05 will have their Orange jerseys hoisted to the Dome rafters. The jersey retirements will take place on Sunday, March 4 when Syracuse hosts Wake Forest at 5:00 p.m. in the JMA Wireless Dome.

20TH ANNIVERSARY OF '03 CHAMPIONSHIP
Syracuse University Athletics will celebrate the 20^th Anniversary of the men's basketball program's 2003 NCAA Championship throughout the 2022-23 season, culminating with a reunion at the March 4 contest with Wake Forest. Members of the 2002-03 national title team have been invited to return to Syracuse for planned activities the weekend of March 3-5, 2023. The Orange are scheduled to host Wake Forest on Saturday, March 4, in the final regular-season contest of the campaign. Those from the 2002-03 squad who can return, will be recognized at the game.
