Robertson and Thorogood PR on First Day of Outdoor

Four Orange got the weekend started early at the Raleigh Relays and Florida State Relays on Thursday night, two of which coming away with personal-best times to jump start the outdoor track season.
Kevin Robertson set a new personal best in the 3000-meter steeplechase in Raleigh, which placed him fourth overall. His time of 8:37.26 places him third in the nation, albeit through just a few days of the outdoor season. The time does bode well for his chances of becoming a national qualifier in the event, as it would have ranked 15th nationally through the entirety of the 2022 season.
In Tallahassee, Trei Thorogood opened the meet with a new PR in the 200-meter dash (20.96 seconds), which was second overall by 0.04 seconds. His time currently stands inside the top-20 nationally as well through the first few days of the outdoor season. James Nmah (22.19) also competed in the event, taking ninth overall.
Kaleia Arrington finished 13th in the women's 200-meter dash, crossing the line in 24.92 seconds.
The bulk of both meets will happen today, first beginning at Florida State at Noon.
