
Westry Selects Syracuse

Former four-star guard Chance Westry will join the Orange men's basketball program, according to the Syracuse Athletics Department. A native of Harrisburg, Pa., Westry spent his freshman year at Auburn.
The 6-6, 190 lb. guard was slowed by injury in his time with the Tigers. He saw action in 11 games and averaged 2.5 points, 0.7 rebounds and 1.0 assists per contest. Auburn was 21-13 last winter.
HIGH SCHOOL STANDOUT
Westry made a scholastic splash at Trinity High School (Pa.). He surpassed the 1,000 career-point milestone in less than two seasons. Westry was named Class 3A Player of the Year honors following his sophomore year with the Shamrocks. Trinity was 23-3 overall, placed first in the Mid-Penn Capital Conference and won the District 3 title. Westry scored in double digits in all 26 contests and had a season-high 52 points in a win against Executive Education Academy Charter.

His junior season was spent at Sierra Canyon School (Calif.), where Westry averaged 14.2 points per contest.

Westry played his senior campaign at Compass Prep School (Ariz.) and averaged 13.8 points, 3.4 rebounds and 3.3 assists. He helped his squad to the quarterfinals of the GEICO High School Nationals and the number three ranking. He was ranked 26th overall by Rivals.com, 32nd by ESPN.com and 38th by 247Sports.com.

He was named to the 2022 Jersey Mike's Naismith High School Trophy Boys Watch List and received an invitation to play for the USA Basketball Junior National Team.
