
McLeod Joins Syracuse Basketball Program

Naheem McLeod, who saw action in 46 games the past two years at Florida State, has announced his transfer to Syracuse. The 7-4, 255 center started 11 of 28 outings for the Seminoles in 2022-23.
ORANGE ADD EXPERIENCED POST PRESENCE
McLeod, who becomes the tallest player in Syracuse hoop history, provides the Orange with some needed experience in the post. The Orange lost starter Jesse Edwards to the transfer portal and return Mounir Hima and Peter Carey, each of whom saw limited minutes last season.
McLEOD AT FLORIDA STATE
McLeod averaged 3.8 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.2 blocked shots per game last winter. He had a season-high 16 points and eight rebounds in a 76-67 loss to Syracuse on Feb. 8. McLeod recoded a blocked shot in 14 games and had multiple rejections in nine contests.
In 2021-22, his first year with the Seminoles, McLeod averaged 4.5 points and 2.1 rebounds over the course of 18 games. He missed the last 10 matchups because of a hand injury.
THREE SEMESTERS AT CHIPOLA COLLEGE
He earned an associate degree in sport management from Chipola College (Fla.). McLeod played one season of basketball and helped the Indians to a 23-5 overall record and the semifinals of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Tournament. He averaged 5.8 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.5 rebounds while starting 19 of 28 contests.
PLYMOUTH WHITEMARSH HIGH SCHOOL
McLeod received Class 6A First-Team All-State honors as a junior and senior at Plymouth Whitemarsh High School (Pa.). He was also a three-time, All-Suburban One League American Conference selection.
