All-Time Orange on ACC Academic Honor Roll
More than half of all Syracuse University student-athletes earned 2022-23 Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Honor Roll recognition, including 33 who achieved the honor for at least four consecutive years. The ACC Academic Honor Roll is comprised of student-athletes who participated in a varsity-level sport and registered a grade point average of 3.0 or better for the full academic year.
Of the 355 Orange student-athletes on the 2022-23 ACC Academic Honor Roll, the following earned the honor for at least four consecutive years: India Aikens (rowing), Brandon Aviles (lacrosse), Lauren Bellefontaine (ice hockey), Arnaud Buard (rowing), Megan Carney (lacrosse), Bianca Chevarie (lacrosse), Landon Clary (lacrosse), Alex Comerford (cross country/track & field), Dakota Davis (football, sixth year on the ACC Academic Honor Roll), Silas Derfal (cross country/track & field, fifth year), Julio Fulcar (soccer), Luisa Gathmann (rowing), Justus Holden Betts (cross country/track & field), Nicholas Kohl (rowing), Brynn Koocher (ice hockey), Pleun Lammers (field hockey), Anna Leschyshyn (ice hockey), Viktoriia Lohkmanchuk (volleyball), Marielle McHale (ice hockey), Hannah Murphy (rowing), Kevin Robertson (cross country/track & field), Emory Sammons (rowing), Matt Scrape (cross country/track & field), Polina Shemanova (volleyball), Marie Sommer (field hockey), Heather Stafford (rowing), Sam Swart (field hockey), Connor Toomey (rowing), Meaghan Tyrrell (lacrosse), Carolos Vettorello (football, fifth year), Samuel Warren (football), Nathaniel Wellington (football) and Shaffer Woody (lacrosse).
For the third year in a row Syracuse University Athletics ranked in the top 10 among Power 5 schools Graduation Success Rate (GSR). Syracuse's 93% GSR is tied for the fifth highest score among Power 5 school, and the Orange are one of 25 Power 5 schools nationally to score 93% or higher. Syracuse's GSR – 93% -- tied for the third-best score in program history, trailing only 95% in 2021 and 94% in 2020. It ties the mark set in 2019. For the fifth time in the last six years more than half of Syracuse's teams achieved a perfect 100% score, with 10 teams hitting that mark. GSR measurement reflects Orange student-athletes who enrolled in 2015-16 and earned their degrees within six years.
In May, more than 120 Orange student-athletes from each of Syracuse's 20 teams earned undergraduate and Master's degrees and Certificates of Advanced Study nine of Syracuse's schools and colleges.
