"The student-athletes on this list should feel tremendously proud of all they have accomplished to be associated with basketball's all-time leading scorer," said John L. Doleva, President and CEO of the Basketball Hall of Fame. "With his focus on both education and athletics, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's perspective is cherished by our committee when evaluating talent each year."
Lampkin Jr., in his first year with the Orange, is coming off a productive season with Colorado, where he started 36-of-37 games for the Buffs. The center averaged 10.6 points and 7.0 rebounds per game. He played a key role in propelling Colorado into the postseason and led the squad with a team-high 21 points to defeat Florida in the opening round of the 2024 NCAA Tournament. This is the first appearance for Lampkin Jr. on the Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Award watch-list.
