
Kiyan Anthony Commits To 'Cuse!

Kiyan Anthony, a 6-5 guard from Glen Head, N.Y., and the son of program legend Carmelo Anthony, has committed to enroll at Syracuse and play for the Orange, according to the University.
Anthony, a four-star recruit, is ranked as the 34th best player and the sixth-best shooting guard in the Class of '25 by 247Sports.com. ESPN.com has Anthony rated 36th overall and ninth among shooting guards. He is 35th overall and the ninth-rated shooting guard by On3.com. Anthony's other ratings, from Rivals.com, are 48th overall and 15th among shooting guards.

He attends Long Island Lutheran High School (N.Y.), where he transferred from Christ the King High School in Queens before his junior year. Anthony helped Long Island Lutheran to a 21-5 record in 2023-24. The Crusaders lost in the quarterfinals of the Chipotle Nationals. He enters the season on the Naismith Boys' High School Player of the Year watch list.

He is coming off a productive summer where he averaged a camp-best 28.5 points per game at the National Basketball Players Association (NBPA) Top 100 Camp. This past spring, Anthony averaged 19.6 points per game for Team Melo on the Nike EYBL circuit.
He is the son of Carmelo Anthony, who produced one of the most productive single seasons in college basketball history in 2002-03 at Syracuse. Anthony led the Orange to the program's first NCAA Championship and was named the Final Four Most Outstanding as a freshman in 2003. The elder Anthony was a consensus All-American. Anthony's accolades also include a 19-year pro career, where he was a 10-time NBA All Star and made the NBA 75th Anniversary Team. He won three Olympic Gold Medals representing Team USA and is eligible for the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2026. Anthony had his #15 jersey retired by Syracuse in 2013.
