SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Gearing up for the 2025 season, four student-athletes have been named captains for the Syracuse University men's lacrosse program.
Caden Kol, Owen Hiltz, Billy Dwan, and Sam English will represent the Orange as captains for the upcoming season.
"We're excited to have these fantastic young men lead this team for the 2025 season," said Roy D. Simmons Jr. Head Men's Lacrosse Coach Gary Gait, who enters his fourth season at the helm of the men's program. "They bring strong character and are driven to succeed."
Kol will be a captain for a second season while Dwan, English, and Hiltz will all wear a C for the first time at Syracuse.
Kol, who hails from Danville, California, has appeared in 42 games for the Orange, including 30 starts over the last two seasons. He has 38 ground balls to his credit, while causing 15 turnovers.
Dwan, matriculating from Lutherville, Maryland, has seen time in all 33 games of his career, making 26 starts including all 18 at close defense last season. The Burlington, Ontario native also took runs on the faceoff wing, helping Syracuse to a 58.0 faceoff win percentage last spring as he snagged 34 ground balls.
Hiltz has seen time in 45 games at Syracuse, making 44 starts. The Peterborugh, Ontario product has scored a point in every game of his career, amassing 166 over that stretch with 91 goals and 75 assists. He has 12 extra man strikes, including six last season. A weapon on the ride, Hiltz has caused 16 turnovers, including six last season, while accumulating 61 ground balls.
