Syracuse football's Jackson Meeks, Savion Washington, and Devin Grant have all earned Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Football Players of the Week honors for their performances in the team's 42-38 win over No. 8 Miami, as announced by the conference on Tuesday afternoon.
Meeks, a wide receiver from Phenix City, Alabama, was named Receiver of the Week for the third time this season after his two-touchdown performance in the victory over the Hurricanes. The senior caught seven passes for 110 yards in the contest.
Washington picked up his second ACC Offensive Lineman of the Week distinction after leading the Orange offensive line to pave the way for a 42-point effort and 479 yards of total offense in the win over Miami. The Akron, Ohio native played 75 snaps, had a 93-percent pass protection grade and a 90-percent run blocking grade. He also contributed four knockdown blocks.
Grant's key fumble return that gave 'Cuse its first lead of the 21-point comeback win earned him Defensive Back Player of the Week for the first time this season. From Elmont, New York, the junior forced and recovered a Hurricanes fumble that he returned and housed 56 yards for a go-ahead touchdown. He also added seven tackles in the win, his second-most this campaign.
Syracuse has now earned at least one league player of the week in eight weeks this season. This week is also the fourth time the Orange have had multiple players earn conference weekly honors in the same week.
Following the conclusion of their regular season slate, the Orange are currently awaiting Bowl Selection for the third-straight year.
