Kaloukian to Play for Armenia U-21

ARMENIA – Sophomore Nicholas Kaloukian and the Armenian under-21 National Team will play Montenegro and Romania in the Union of European Football Association (UEFA) EURO U-21 qualification.

Armenia travels to Montenegro for a match on Friday, March 22 before returning to Armenia to host Romania on Tuesday, March 26. Match times are set for 10 a.m. EST and 7 a.m. EST, respectively. Armenia is in Group E, which features Switzerland, Romania, Albania, Finland and Montenegro.

"This is an exciting time for me," Kaloukian said. "I feel a tremendous pride playing for my National Team. There's nothing better than being out there in a professional environment with top competition. I plan to make my mark and come back to Syracuse feeling confident and at top form."

Kaloukian is set to appear in his first official matches after he was called up to the U-21 squad in June 2023 for an international friendly against North Macedonia. In the contest, the striker scored the team's lone goal in a 1-1 draw.

"We are extremely happy for Nick to be representing his country at the UEFA EURO U-21. I take great pride in watching former and current Syracuse players don their country's colors and competing against some of the world's best."

Kaloukian recorded six goals and three assists in 21 matches for the Orange in 2023. The sophomore recorded a point in five straight matches during the season and scored three goals in postseason play, including a brace against Boston University in the NCAA First Round.
