
Orange Rally For 1-1 Draw

Freshman Iba Oching scored with just over 20 minutes remaining to help Syracuse (1-0-1) tie Maine (1-0-1), 1-1, at the SU Soccer Stadium on Sunday.
Oching's goal was the first of her collegiate career.
OCHING'S EQUALIZER:
With Syracuse trailing 1-0, Oching stepped forward for the Orange. She intercepted an attempted clear by Maine, carried into the box and crossed over from right to left before driving the ball by Maine goalkeeper Jessica Kasacek on the short side. The game-knotting score came at the 69:49 mark.
BLACK BEARS POUNCE:
 Maine took advantage of an early Syracuse turnover. Kayla Kraemer stole the ball, passed to her sister Abby Kraemer, who fed Lara Kirkby for her second goal of the season. The Black Bears struck just 1:07 into the contest.
VANDERBOSCH RULES:
Junior Shea Vanderbosch made four saves overall, including two critical stops in the second half while the Orange trailed. The first big save came on a scoring attempt from Luise Reinwald at 60:26. Vanderbosch dove to her left to thwart the drive. Her second stellar stop occurred at 68:57 when Vanderbosch saved the shot of Gillian Rovers.

- Redshirt junior Erin Flurey, a forward, had a Syracuse-best three shots. Senior forward Julia Dening tallied two shots for the Orange, including one that just slid wide of the goal near the end of the first half.
- Flurey,senior defender Kylen Grant, Oching and Vanderbosch played all 90 minutes for the Orange.
- Senior defender Cierra Collins, freshman forward Allie Fouts and freshman midfield Leda Naihin made their collegiate debuts for Syracuse.
- Maine outshot Syracuse, 15-10.Â
- Kasacek made one save for the Black Bears.
