SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Syracuse University women's tennis team released its fall schedule on Wednesday, Sept. 4. This fall, the Orange will compete in six tournaments, with the first slated for next weekend.
The Orange will begin their fall season at the Penn Invitational in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on Sept. 13-15. Shortly after, select players will compete in the ITA Women's All-American Tournament in Cary, North Carolina, on Sept. 21-29. The ITA Northeast Regionals will then take place in Boston, Massachusetts, on Oct. 11-15.
Following ITA Regionals, 'Cuse will stay close by in New York for two events - the Cornell Invitational from Oct. 25-27 and the Buffalo Invitational from Nov. 1-3. Syracuse will conclude its fall season at the NCAA Individual Championships in Waco, Texas, on Nov. 19-24. This is the first time the NCAA Individual Championships will be held in the fall instead of the spring.
The Orange returns Miyuka Kimoto, Shiori Ito, Constance Levivier and Anastasia Sysoeva from last year's team. 'Cuse also has two newcomers for this fall – Nelly Knezkova and Serafima Shastova. Kimoto was ranked No. 24 in the ITA's preseason singles rankings, with Kimoto and Ito checking in at No. 40 in the preseason doubles rankings.
