
Men’s Lacrosse Ranked Second in Preseason Poll

BALTIMORE – With the 2025 men's lacrosse season just over a week away, Syracuse University was voted second in the Inside Lacrosse Men's Division I Media Poll. The lacrosse-based publication released its preseason poll Tuesday morning.
The Orange picked up 423 points in the media poll, close behind top-ranked Notre Dame's 459 points with 22 of the 23 first-place votes. Cornell was voted third with 396 points and the final outstanding first-place vote. Princeton was fourth with 385 points followed by Maryland with 343 points.
Syracuse, which went 12-6 overall last year en route to the NCAA Tournament Quarterfinals, will play nearly half of the preseason top 20 during the 2025 campaign: No. 1 Notre Dame (April 5), No. 3 Cornell (April 12), No. 5 Maryland (Feb. 15), No. 6 Virginia (March 29), No. 7 Duke (April 19), No. 8 Johns Hopkins (March 9) , No. 16 North Carolina (April 26), No. 17 Towson (Feb. 10), No. 18 Harvard (Feb. 22). Additionally, Syracuse will face Colgate (March 22) and Utah (Feb. 22) which received votes from the media.
