
27 Orange Student-Athletes Honored with 1A FAR Academic Excellence Award

Syracuse University is proud to announce that 27 student-athletes have been named recipients of the prestigious 2025 1A FAR Academic Excellence Award, recognizing their outstanding accomplishments in the classroom while competing at the highest level of college sports.
The 1A FAR Board presents this award annually to student-athletes who graduate with a cumulative GPA of 3.80 or above and have participated in at least two years of NCAA intercollegiate athletics at a Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) institution.
The Syracuse University recipients represent nine different sports programs and demonstrate the university's commitment to academic and athletic excellence.
From women's soccer, the honorees include Kendyl Lauher, Kylen Grant, Abigale Ross, Alivia Uribe, Grace Franklin, Ashley Rauch, Cierra Collins, and Emma Klein. The women's rowing program celebrated four recipients: Lauren Coop, Aphrodite Gioulekas, Kelly Brown, and Charlotte Ebel. Women's field hockey also had three award winners: Daisy Frank, Abigail Neitch, and Brooke Borzymowski.
The women's track program produced three recipients: Olivia Joly, Bethany Steiner, and Madeline Heintz. Women's lacrosse was represented by McKenzie Olsen and Mackenzie Rich, while Jordan Beck earned the honor from men's lacrosse.
Additional recipients include Klara Zarnovicka from women's volleyball, Georgia Woolley from women's basketball, Erin Brousseau from women's ice hockey, Jason Smith from men's soccer, and Xayvion Perkins from men's track.
