Starling Earns Preseason All-ACC Honor

Senior guard J.J. Starling has been voted 2025-26 Preseason All-ACC Second Team by a panel of conference media.
Syracuse was picked to place ninth in the 18-team league in the ACC Preseason Poll. Duke earned the top spot, along with 34 of 49 first-place votes.
Starling, who was a 2024-25 All-ACC Honorable Mention selection following last season, is a returning starter for the Orange. He averaged a squad-best 17.8 points and 34.6 minutes per game a year ago after starting in all 26 contests he played in. Starling missed seven games with an injury.
A native of Baldwinsville, N.Y., Starling attended C.W. Baker High School for two years before moving on to La Lumiere School (Ind.) for two seasons. He was a 2022 McDonald's All-American.
He enrolled at Notre Dame for one campaign before transferring to Syracuse for the 2023-24 school year. He has accumulated 1,202 points in his collegiate career, including 889 with the Orange.
