
17 Named to Football All-ACC Academic Team

Seventeen Syracuse football standouts were honored with All-ACC Academic team accolades, celebrating them for their success in the classroom, in addition to on the field.
The Orange wrapped up a 10-win campaign and also continued to be successful in the classroom. The Syracuse athletic department had a record-breaking fall semester, recording the highest fall GPA in department history.
Justin Barron, Jakob Bradford, Berry Buxton, Tom Callahan, David Clement, Devin Grant, Jaden Hart, Isaiah Hastings, James Heard, Kyle McCord, Derek McDonald, David Omopariola, Trebor Pena, Rashard Perry, Mark Petry, Max Runyon and Jack Stonehouse earned the distinction.
It was the third time McDonald has earned the award, while Barron, Buxton, Clement, Petry and Stonehouse are all multi-year winners.
Academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one's academic career. In addition, student-athletes must have competed in at least 50 percent of their team's contests during the season. The ACC Honor Roll, which celebrates an athlete's academic success, regardless of competitive participation, will be released this summer.
