SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Orange are record second in both the major polls this week as Syracuse University men's lacrosse moves up a spot in one poll, while holding steady in the other.
Syracuse, fresh off a 24-5 win over visiting Jacksonville University on Saturday, jumped one spot in the USILA Coaches Poll, moving into second place while still retaining a first-place vote. The Orange remained in second in the Kane Men's Lacrosse Division I Media Poll this week.
The Coaches Poll had the Orange with 586 points and one first place vote, trailing only Notre Dame at 639 points with the remaining 32 first-place nods. Cornell was third with 547 points, edging out Maryland at 540 points. Virginia rounded out the top five with 485 points in the USILA Coaches Poll.
Inside Lacrosse's Division I Media Poll had the top four in the same order with the Orange garnering 404 points but without a first-place selection. Notre Dame remained atop the rankings with 439 points and 21 of the 22 first-place votes. Cornell was also ranked third in the media with 376 points and the one first-place vote.
