
Orange Ranked 10th for Double Game Week

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Heading into a double week of games, the Syracuse University men's lacrosse team remains in the top 10 of both major polls, which were released Monday.
Syracuse (5-2) was ranked 10th in both the USILA Division I Coaches Poll and the Inside Lacrosse Division I Media Poll, picking up 341 points in the former and 278 points in the latter.
Maryland retained the number one spot in the Coaches Poll with 620 points and all 31 first-place votes. Army West Point was second behind 549 points, followed by Cornell at 515 points. Penn State and North Carolina tied for fourth with 508 points apiece.
Likewise, the Media Poll had the Terrapins ranked first with 480 points and all 24 top selections. Penn State was second with 420 points, one point ahead of Army West Point. Cornell was fourth with 415 points while North Carolina rounded out the top five.
Colgate, which Syracuse faces on Saturday at noon on ACC Network inside the JMA Wireless Dome, was ranked 20th in the Coaches Poll and 18th in the Media Poll.
Nine opponents on the 2025 schedule were mentioned in the Coaches Poll this week: No. 1 Maryland, No. 3 Cornell, No. 4 North Carolina, No. 7 Duke, No. 8 Notre Dame, No. 11 Johns Hopkins, No. 12 Harvard, No. 20 Colgate, and Virginia, which received votes this week.
An equal number of opponents were mentioned in the Media Poll this week: No. 1 Maryland, No. 4 Cornell, No. 5 North Carolina, No. 7 Notre Dame, No. 8 Duke, No. 11 Johns Hopkins, No. 12 Harvard, No. 18 Colgate, and Virginia in the receiving votes column.
Syracuse kicks off the week on Tuesday night with a clash against Manhattan. Game time on ACC Network Extra is slated for 7 p.m. with Ian Nicholas and Stephen Rehfuss '21 on the call with Sean Dorcellus '21 reporting from the sideline. Tuesday night's game will be Military Appreciation Day. Free camo bucket hats featuring the Syracuse Block S will be available as a giveaway item at Gate A of the JMA Wireless Dome on a first come, first served basis.
The Orange continue a longstanding series on Saturday against No. 20/18 Colgate with a noon faceoff on ACC Network. Saturday's game is designated as LaCROSSe Out Cancer day as the team helps shed light on those battling pediatric cancer.
