Syracuse University women's ice hockey graduate student Allie Kelley has been tabbed as the AHA Goaltender of the Month for February. Atlantic Hockey America (AHA) unveiled its monthly winners Tuesday afternoon.
Kelley went 6-1 in her seven February starts, logging a .957 save percentage while turning away 224-of-234 shots faced. She bookended the month with a pair of shutouts, the first coming in a 33-save effort versus Lindenwood on Feb. 1. The second clean sheet was a 47-save gem in game one of the AHA semifinals at Mercyhurst over the weekend, with her performance anchoring a 1-0 triumph to open the series for the Orange.
In five of her seven February appearances, Kelley notched a save percentage of at least .950 and was above a .915 mark in six starts. She stopped 40-plus shots in each of her last three outings between the pipes, which included tallying 40 saves in Syracuse's double overtime victory over Robert Morris in the AHA quarterfinals.
Kelley, the NCAA and Syracuse's all-time saves leader, earned a spot on the All-AHA Second Team and took home two AHA Goaltender of the Week honors on the campaign. She concluded Syracuse's season with a .929 save percentage and four shutouts.
