
Men’s Lacrosse Remains in Top 10 of Polls

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Despite a setback against the number one team in the country, Syracuse University men's lacrosse remained inside the top 10 of the major polls as the Orange resume ACC play this weekend.
Syracuse (9-3) checked in at number eight in the USILA Division I Coaches Poll this week, picking up 362 points. The Orange, who head for Durham, North Carolina this weekend, slipped to number seven in the Inside Lacrosse Division I Media Poll with 327 points.
Cornell remained at the top of the USILA Coaches Poll with 540 points and all 27 first place votes. Princeton was second with 504 points with Maryland close behind with 487 points. Army West Point was fourth with 442 points followed by North Carolina, Syracuse's regular season finale opponent, with 428 points.
The Big Red were first in the Media Poll for a fourth straight week, grabbing all 23 top votes and 460 points. Princeton was second with 429 points with Maryland in third with 410 points. Army West Point was fourth with 379 points with North Carolina in fifth at 351 points.
Ten of Syracuse's 14 regular season opponents were mentioned in the USILA Coaches Poll this week: No. 1 Cornell, No. 3 Maryland, No. 5 North Carolina, No. 9 Notre Dame, No. 10 Harvard, No. 13 Duke, with Johns Hopkins, Virginia, Towson, and Jacksonville all receiving votes.
Nine opponents were listed in the Inside Lacrosse Division I Media Poll in Week 10: No. 1 Cornell, No. 3 Maryland, No. 5 North Carolina, No. 9 Notre Dame, No. 10 Harvard, No. 12 Duke, as Johns Hopkins, Virginia, and Towson received votes.
No. 8/No. 7 Syracuse heads south to resume ACC action Saturday afternoon against No. 13/No. 12 Duke. Opening faceoff at Koskinen Stadium is set for 2 p.m. on ACC Network.
