Allen Selected by Jaguars in NFL Draft

Running back LeQuint Allen was the third member of the Syracuse football team selected in the 2025 NFL Draft, with the Jacksonville Jaguars picking him in the seventh round.
Allen gives 'Cuse the most selections by the program since 2013, with still time to go in this year's draft. Oronde Gadsden II (fifth round – Chargers) and Kyle McCord (sixth round – Eagles), were the two prior picks.
Allen departs Syracuse as one of the most productive backs in program history, at a school known for its exceptional production at the position. A two-year starter, Allen posted back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons and leaves the school 13th on the program's all-time rushing list (2,359) – one spot behind Heisman Trophy winner and College Football Hall of Fame selection Ernie Davis.
His 26 career rushing touchdowns is ninth in program history, while his 16 rushing scores this season are the third most in school history.
A threat in the passing game as well, Allen finishes his 'Cuse career as the all-time leader in receptions by a running back with 119, shattering Antwon Bailey's record (92). His 64 catches this season was 25 more than Duane Kinnon's single-season mark set in 1989. Allen also holds the single season (521) and career (848) receiving yards records among Syracuse running backs.
He tallied 1,542 all-purpose yards on the season, which was ninth in school history, despite not tallying any yards in the return game this year. He trails a who's who of all-time greats on that list, including Floyd Little (twice), Marvin Harrison, Joe Morris (twice), Kevin Johnson, Sean Tucker and Walter Reyes. His 3,256 career all-purpose yards ranks 15th on the 'Cuse record list.
Allen led all running backs nationally this season with 64 receptions. To date, he and Arizona State running back Cam Skattebo are the only two players in the country with over 1,000 rushing yards and 500 receiving yards on the season. Allen ranks 16th nationally in yards from scrimmage on the year.
