Six Former Orange Lead Teams to Top Four Finishes

Team USA Gold, Canada Silver at Men's Sixes
Syracuse University men's lacrosse was well represented at the 2026 Pan-American Sixes Lacrosse Championship. Each of the top four teams had a former Orange on their roster, with the United States and Joey Spallina taking gold.Â
Team United States: The United States took gold over reigning champion Canada, knocking off the No. 1-ranked team in the tournament. In the gold medal game, Joey Spallina took three shots on goal and sunk every one in the back of the net. Merely two off the leader, he finished second in assists with 12. Spallina led the entire tournament with 18 goals and a total of 30 points throughout four games.Â
Team Canada:Â Former Orange Sam English and Finn Thomson took home silver with Team Canada. Thomson finished second in points and tied for fourth in goals at the tournament. Finishing first in assists, Thomson dished out 14 over four games. In the final game, the scoring was started by a connection of former teammates, with Thomson scoring a goal off an assist from English. In the last game of the tournament, English led both teams with two assists. English was also a standout player in the tournament, finishing with 17 points on 11 goals and six assists.Â
Haudenosaunee Nationals: Finishing up the podium, the Haudenosaunee Nationals and former Orange, Warren Hill, took home bronze. Hill finished fifth in the tournament with a save percentage of .49 and tied for third with 45 saves. Playing all four games, Hill played 128 minutes in goal. In the bronze medal game, Hill made 13 saves and boasted a .50 save percentage.Â
Team Puerto Rico: Taking home fourth place, Syracuse was well represented on Team Puerto Rico with Brandon Aviles and Will Mark. The short-stick defensive midfielder, Brandon Aviles, picked up both a loose ball and a goal. Aviles played in all four games for Puerto Rico. In goal for Puerto Rico, Will Mark led the tournament in saves with 54. Mark played in all four games and finished with a .44 save percentage.Â
