
Wilson The Latest To Select Orange

Luke Wilson, a 6-9, 255 center who spent the past two seasons at Appalachian State, has accepted a written offer of athletic aid to Syracuse, and will transfer to join the Orange.

Wilson competed at Augusta Christian School (Ga.) before enrolling at Appalachian State. He made dramatic improvement in his two seasons, increasing his scoring average from 2.9 ppg. to 10.7 ppg. and his rebounding marks from 2.6 rpg. to 8.3 rpg.

WILSON AT AUGUSTA CHRISTIAN SCHOOL
He was part of the 2022-23 squad that finished 26-5 and captured the South Carolina Independent School Association (SCISA) 4A State Championship by defeating Cardinal Newman, 47-44. It was the second straight title for the Lions, who beat First Baptist School in the 2021-22 final, 58-52. Wilson received Division I interest in basketball and football.

WILSON AT APPALACHIAN STATE (2023-26)
After redshirting his freshman year, Wilson played 30 games for the Mountaineers. He averaged 2.9 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.1 blocked shots per game. His 32 blocked shots ranked ninth in the Sun Belt Conference. Appalachian State finished 17-14 overall and 10-8 in the Sun Belt Conference.

In his redshirt sophomore campaign, 2025-26, Wilson started 30 of the 32 games he played in. His season statistics jumped to 10.7 points, 8.3 rebounds and 1.8 blocks per game. Wilson scored in double digits 20 times and had 10-or-more rebounds in 13 games. He posted a squad-best 12 double-doubles. Wilson ranked second in the Sun Belt Conference in blocks (55) and blocks per game (1.8). He had two-or-more blocks in 15 contests. Wilson was named the Sun Belt Conference Defensive Player of the Year. The Mountaineers ended up 19-13 overall and 11-7 in the Sun Belt Conference.
