Syracuse To Face Indiana On November 9

Two of the winningest programs in college basketball history will square off when Syracuse faces Indiana on Monday, November 9, at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
     Syracuse (2,022 wins) and Indiana (1,968) rank seventh and 11th, respectively, on the list of all-time winningest schools by victories.
     The game time and television partner will be announced later.
The Syracuse-Indiana Series:
     Former Syracuse standout Gerry McNamara enters his first year at the helm of his alma mater. McNamara spent the last two seasons in charge at Siena, where he led the Saints into the 2026 NCAA Tournament. The Orange have two returning sophomores, Kiyan Anthony and Sadiq White Jr., to go along with six transfers and four freshmen who were added.
Indiana
     Indiana coach Darian DeVries heads into his second year with the Hoosiers after a 18-14 season in 2025-26. The Hoosier roster includes four returning players, seven transfers and four first-year players. Aiden Sherrell, a 6-11 forward from Alabama, and 6-0 guard Markus Burton from Notre Dame are the top two transfers.

The Syracuse-Indiana Series:
- Syracuse owns a 6-1 advantage in the all-time series with Indiana.
- The Orange and the Hoosiers squared off for the first time in the 1987 NCAA Championship game, which Indiana won, 74-73.
- The two teams also met in the 2013 NCAA Tournament, and Syracuse emerged with a 61-50 win in the Sweet 16.
- Syracuse has hosted the only two home-court matchups in the series. Both were ACC/Big Ten Challenge games in the JMA Wireless Dome. The Orange won, 69-52, in 2013, and 112-110 in two overtimes, in 2021.
- The other three encounters were Syracuse victories in neutral-site tournament games: 102-78 in the 1988 Big Apple NIT, 77-74 in the 1990 Maui Classic, and 76-63 in the 1998 Maui Classic.
