Kyle Signs with Lakers

Former Syracuse center William Kyle III will sign a free agent contract with the Los Angeles Lakers according to multiple league reports.
Kyle, one of the nation's top shot blockers, averaging 2.5 per game this season, averaged 8.1 points and 7.1 rebounds per game in his one season in Syracuse. His 2.5 blocks per game led the ACC, and placed him on the Naismith Defensive Player of the Year Award watch list.
An athletic big man, Kyle was also a participant in the College Slam Dunk Championship during Final Four Weekend in Indianapolis.
Kyle is the first Syracuse player to sign with the Lakers since Cole Swider played for the franchise in the 2022-23 season. Should Kyle be named to the NBA roster, he'd be the sixth former Orange to suit up for the franchise in the last-14 seasons, joining Swider, Carmelo Anthony, Dion Waiters, Tyler Ennis and Wesley Johnson. Danny Schyes and Marty Byrnes also previously played for the Lakers among 'Cuse alumni.
