Roy Simmons Sr. Coaches Wing

It is named after Roy Simmons Sr., head men's lacrosse coach from 1931-70 and a 1964 inductee into the Lacrosse Hall of Fame. Simmons was also Syracuse's head boxing coach (1925 to 1956) and was an assistant football coach (1925 to 1969). He coached many Orange greats, including Jim Brown and his son and former SU lacrosse coach Roy Jr. In addition, Simmons Sr. played lacrosse and football for the Orange.
Until his death on August 19, 1994 at the age of 93, he remained a mentor and friend to former athletes and helped to mold the lives of many Syracuse students.
