Melissa Yearous<br>First Year at SU
Yearous was a four-year letterwinner on the Clarion basketball team and finished her four years as one of only 10 players in school history to record 1,000 points. She is also one of only eight Clarion players to amass 1,000 points and 500 rebounds in a career. Yearous was a two-time second-team All-Pennsylvania Athletic Conference West Division performer, and set both school and conference records during the 1999-2000 season when she converted on 45 consecutive free throws.
Yearous was also a talented track & field athlete, winning the PSAC title in the high jump twice. She was a Division II All-American in the event in 2001 and also holds the Clarion high jump record.
Yearous completed an internship with the Utah Starzz of the WNBA. Her duties included working with the club’s advertising, marketing and ticket offices.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in communications in May, 2001 and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in advertising at Syracuse.
