Orangewomen Defeat Central Florida, Miami and Navy
Against Central Florida, the Varsity eight was directed by coxswain Heather DiLoreto (East Amherst, NY) and powered by Jillian Kott (McLean, VA), a 2000 All-American, Katie Modolo (St. Catherines, Ontario), a team co-captain, Alicea Kochis (Naugatuck, CT), Helen Tanger (Amstelveen, The Netherlands), Froukje Wegman (Haastrect, The Netherlands), Racheal Kirchhoff (Juneau, AK), Nicole Garafalo (Liverpool, NY) and Shannon Mercurio (Saranac Lake, NY) in seats eight through bow, respectively. For the race against Miami and Navy Meredith Kyle (Rochester, NY) rowed in the bow instead of Mercurio.
The junior varsity eight, which included coxswain Erin Gallagher (Upper Darby, PA), followed by Seana Miller (West Redding, CT), team co-captain Libby Graves (Holden, MA), Kyle, Lesley Wolf (Syracuse, NY), Odette Mitchell-Servilio (Park Ridge, NJ), Angelique Darling (Brockville, Ontario), Bonnie Chapman (Gainsville, FL) and Chris Getzler (Naperville, IL) in the bow, beat Central Florida, 6:55.25 to 7:16.32 and took second in the afternoon, with a time of 6:49.33. Navy (6:43.33) was first and Miami (7:03.88) was third.
The Orangewomen will return to competition on March 31 when they challenge Boston University and Texas in Boston, MA.
