Coming into this game, Notre Dame owned a record of 1-2 in domed stadiums. The last time the Irish played in a domed stadium was Jan. 1, 1992 when they beat Florida, 39-28 in the 1992 Sugar Bowl at the Louisiana Superdome.
Notre Dame has been outscored in the first quarter 108-64 this season.
ND was 0-for-1 on fourth downs in the first quarter against the Orangemen, now 12 of 29 (41.3%) on the season.
Julius Jones' fumble was ND's first in the red zone this year and third turnover overall in the red zone.
Quentin Burrell's second-quarter interception was his fourth of the season and third in the last three games (one in each game).
The five rushing touchdowns scored by Syracuse's Walter Reyes were the most individual touchdowns given up by Notre Dame since Anthony Davis of USC scored six TD's against the Irish in 1972 (four of those six were rushing).
Reyes' 189 rushing yards were the most yards rushing against ND since Boston College's William Green had 195 in 2001.
Julius Jones finished the 2003 season tied for the fourth-highest single-season rushing total in Irish history with Autry Denson, 1997 (1,268 yards).
The 247 rushing yards racked up by Syracuse marked the most rushing yards against the Irish since Stanford totaled 309 in 1998.
