On the 2004 football schedule:
“When you look at it, depending on what poll you look at, we played six teams in the top 25. Nobody in the BIG EAST came even close to that, so we were 6-5, but look at whom we lost to. Look at one of those games in the Dome that we could have won against a top 10 team.”
On the influences of his evaluation to the Chancellor:
“My personal feelings about Paul did not factor into an honest evaluation. I don’t want to say that my evaluation was based on that win (Boston College). I am saying that the evaluation at the end of the season, all 11 games, including the BC game was made on the basis of the expectations.”
On the decision to keep Coach Pasqualoni with a new athletic director being hired:
“Just because of the uniqueness of the timing with me leaving, a new person coming on in this evaluation process, a new chancellor in her first year and that is difficult for her as well, we all get swept up in timing both good and bad. I think part of that timing is recruiting, and having a staff intact through recruiting and letter-of-intent day that we are going to be able to maximize coming off a good season.”
