Syracuse Player Quotes
Syracuse vs. Notre Dame
February 16, 2004
Carrier Dome, Syracuse, N.y.
Junior Craig Forth
On motivating each other:
"We have 15 guys on this team and everyone has to push everyone else. No one guy can hold an entire team. We have to be in there and holding everyone the whole time. We have to be ready to play as a team every single night."
Freshman Louie McCroskey
On playing as a team:
"A lot of times people get caught up in saying it's a one-man team, but we're all here for a reason. We haven't been playing our best, but we have to go out there and try to do our best all of the time."
On his focus and how to improve:
"Our focus is on trying to get a 'W'. In losses sometimes you try to take away something positive. We're going to try to play with heart. It's a lot of mental work, dealing with this situation. You have to work on things you know you need to work on over time and get stronger."
Junior Hakim Warrick
On playing defense:
"They really did a good job. They hit some tough shots. It's tough going out there and playing hard defense, winding down the shot clock and having them put up contested threes and hitting them. That's tough on us and they did it time and time again."
On what made the difference:
"I think we shot a lot better than we did in the games before Miami and Rutgers, but they hit some tough shots tonight and we made too many little mistakes. Little mistakes turned the game around. They came down at the other end and capitalized. I thought we had some good shots, we just didn't hit them."
On where to go from here:
We have to go out there and play with that passion, that heart, with the same hunger that we played with last year. We had that in the Miami and Rutgers games. I think we really have to protect our home court from here on out and hopefully win some games on the road as well. We have to turn things around and hopefully make a run to finish off strong. This was a tough loss, but we have to go back at it in practice on Wednesday and get ready to work."
