Men's Rowing Recaps
November 5
The Syracuse men’s rowing team placed at least one boat in the top-six in all three of its races at the Syracuse Invitational held Saturday Nov. 3 on Onondaga Lake. The Orange took first place in the freshman eight and had all three of its boats in the top six of the varsity four “A” flight.
The Orange kicked off the day with “A,” “B,” and “C” boats in the varsity four “A” flight. The Orange “A” team had the highest finish, coming in second with a time of 17.11.1. The Orange “B” team placed fifth with a time of 17:28.8, while the “C” team came in sixth with a time of 17:33.1.
The “A” team was victorious in the freshman eight for the Orange with a time of 15:48.5. The Orange also entered a “B” boat in the 14-team race, which placed 8th with a time of 17:25.1.
Syracuse entered “D” and “E” boats in the 14-boat varsity four “B” flight. The Orange “D” boat took sixth place with a time of 17:45.4 and the “E” boat finished in seventh place with a time of 18:02.1.
The Orange returns to the water Nov. 17 to wrap up its fall season at the Foot of the Charles in Boston, Mass.
October 29
The Syracuse men’s rowing team opened the fall season at the Princeton Chase on Sunday, October 28. The Orange had had three boats place in the top 12 in the men’s heavyweight eight and heavyweight four races.
The Syracuse “A” boat in the men’s heavyweight race finished eighth with a time of 13:32.998.
The Orange “A” and “B” boats in the men’s heavyweight four finished 11th and 12th with times of 15:31.128 and 15:31.755, respectively.
Syracuse’s “B” boat in the men’s heavyweight eight placed 29th with a time of 14:07.869 and SU's "C" boat in the men's heavyweight four placed 26th with a time of 16:03.553.
SU returns to Syracuse to host the Syracuse Invitational on November 3.
