Sophomore quarterback Andrew Robinson had his first pass of the day tipped resulting in his first interception since the Iowa game – ending a streak of 104 attempts without a pick.
Robinson’s second-half touchdown pass marked the third consecutive game he threw at least one TD, and he has a touchdown pass in five of Syracuse’s six contests this season.
True freshman Max Suter recorded seven tackles in his first career start at safety.
Senior defensive end Lee Williams registered five tackles in his first start of the season.
True freshman Mike Holmes returned the third kickoff of the game a career-long 64 yards. Holmes also had a 41-yard return in the game.
Holmes registered a game-best and career-high 13 tackles.
Junior running back Curtis Brinkley rushed for his first touchdown of the season on Syracuse’s initial scoring drive. Brinkley carried the ball on seven of the ten plays on the drive for 32 yards.
True freshman Randy McKinnon’s first career kickoff return went for 18 yards. He also had a 23-yard return in the third quarter.
Sophomore receive Mike Williams caught a career-long 61 yard touchdown pass in the third quarter.
