Hans Schmid was a two-time captain and two-time All-American for the Orange. He was part of the 1995 and 1993 national championship teams. He had an assist in the one-point win over North Carolina in 1993.
Senior Year (1995): One of four captains…All-American second team…started in all 15 games…fourth on team in recovered groundballs with 63…had two assists on the season, against Johns Hopkins and Brown.
Junior Year (1994): One of three captains…All-American honorable mention…started all 15 games…fourth on the team with 56 groundballs…had an assist in the opening win over North Carolina.
Sophomore Year (1993): Scored his only assist on his only shot of the season in the NCAA Championship win over North Carolina for his second assist in six NCAA Tournament games played…picked up 16 groundballs.

Freshman Year (1991): Had 12 groundballs on the season…had two points with assists vs. Dartmouth and Michigan State in the NCAA Tournament.
High School: Attended Ithaca High School…team captain as a senior for Coach Jamie Thomas…two-time first team All-Section IV…played in the 1989 Empire State Games for the gold medal-winning Central team…also lettered as a defensive end for the football team.
