Nicholas Marsella graduated from Syracuse University with a bachelor's degree from the School of Management with concentrations in the areas of personnel and industrial relations. Marsella lettered in football for coaches Ben Schwartzwalder and Frank Maloney, and he also played lacrosse for Coach Simmons.
Upon graduation, Marsella began working at Byrne Dairy in the Dairy Processing Plant. Today he is the senior vice president overseeing plant operations. Marsella also serves on the Board of Directors at Byrne Dairy and serves on the Byrne Foundation, which makes decisions on charitable contributions.
Nick is also very active within the community. He was a Liverpool girl's softball coach for almost 10 years. In 2000 he served as coach of the BULL Lacrosse League, and he served as a coach in the SALT City Baseball League. Most recently he volunteered as a coach for the Liverpool High School varsity women’s lacrosse team.
In both 1999 and 2000 Nick organized and instituted a fund raising project for the Ronald McDonald House. Nick and his neighbor rode their bikes from Liverpool, NY to Lake Placid. The exhausting trip of 200 miles up hill for 12 hours shows his intense commitment to help the less fortunate. Nick currently serves on the Onondaga County Zoo Board of Directors, a position he has held since 1997. He is also a member of the Onondaga County Republican Committee and Onondaga County Human Needs Task Force.
Marsella is a lifetime member of the Varsity Club and the Stickmen’s Fund. He assisted in the development and implementation of Career Transition Program for SU student-athletes. Nick worked with student-athletes and helped them prepare for interviews as they entered the work force, on a person-to-person basis.
