1999 Letterwinner of Distinction
Ann and Milton Stevenson are devoted to their alma mater. Both Ann and Milton are graduates of Syracuse University. Ann graduated from the College of Nursing in 1952 and Milton from the L.C. Smith College of Engineering and Computer Science in 1953. Both are retired – Ann served as vice president and Milton served as president of Anoplate Corporation, which they founded in 1960. Not only did they receive their education from SU, but it also brought them together. They met through the Westminster Fellowship, a Presbyterian group meeting in Hendricks Chapel. The Miltons believe that SU has added so much to their lives that they have given back with scholarship money. Their generosity has helped the School of Nursing and the Department of Athletics. Their gifts will help finance athletic scholarships and academic support for student-athletes. In October of 1998, a wing of Manley Field House where student athletes receive academic support was named after them – the Ann and Milton Stevenson Educational Center. Ann and Milton have eight children, two of whom are graduates of Syracuse University.
