What are you looking for out of this season?
“We're just looking forward to winning. We have a good team and we think we can get back to where we were last year. Hopefully everything will work out.”
You're a senior this year and you led the team is scoring last season. What type of role are you stepping into this year?
“I'm a quiet leader. I try and show everything I can on the court. The freshmen, they look up to me a little bit and they ask me questions. I try to give everybody the advice they need and do everything I need to do.”
Speaking of those freshmen, what you think of this year's incoming class?
“They're looking good. They're quick learners. Everybody's getting attached really closely and quickly, so I think that's a step in the right direction. I think they're going to do a good job this season.”
Tyler Ash comes to Syracuse as a big name. What do you think of her?
She's a great player and I actually guard her in practice. It's kind of tough because she's long and physical. She's a great person off the court as well.”
You guys went a little under the radar last season. You're not going to be able to do that this season. What's it going to be like playing against other teams that know you're a tougher challenge?
Yeah, we were the underdogs last season and not many people were expecting that type of production from us. We just have to go out and do the same thing we did last year. I mean, people are still going to try and doubt us because some of them might think last season was a fluke. We just have to prove them wrong and do what we have to do.
What do you think of this tough BIG EAST conference?
It's a tough one. I think we'll be alright, though.
Is the team excited for the trip to Alaska at the beginning of the season?
Yeah, from the cold-to-the-cold, just on a different coast. It's going to be fun.
Coach Hillsman won BIG EAST Coach of the Year last season. How are you feeling about playing for him again this season?
He's a great coach. He's competitive and likes to win. He deserves everything he's earned so and hopefully he can win Coach of the Year again this season.
