Coach Boeheim Postgame Quotes
Syracuse vs. Louisville
Sunday, Jan. 25, 2008
Carrier Dome/Syracuse, N.Y.
Opening statement:
“I thought both teams played well defensively. We couldn’t make anything and they couldn’t make anything for a long time. I thought that key play was where they did miss that shot and then Clarke got the three. That was really the one play of the game. It was two good defensive teams and neither team was making anything. I thought it came down to that one big play and we didn’t get that rebound. We had a couple opportunities with the one-point lead, tied game, and we just didn’t have a good offensive possession on either one.”

On Earl Clark’s play down the stretch:
“Well, the three was the big play, that was the key. Neither team was making anything. We didn’t get that one rebound possession and he made the shot. That was it. The one shot they needed to make they made.”
On the offensive problems in the last six-minutes :
“I just don’t think we ever got in a rhythm during the game. I don’t think we moved the ball well against the zone. I thought we were in position to get some offensive rebound , and we didn’t get them. You’ve got to get some offensive rebounds, which is what they did against us. They got 21. Jonny [Flynn] got in the lane and Eric [Devendorf] got in the lane two or three times, but we just didn’t get it off the boards.”
On Louisville being able to contain Syracuse's running game:
“We didn’t get enough clean rebounds. When we got them, it was a labored rebound. When we did get out, we didn’t finish very well. You’re not going to get out and run against good teams in this league. They’re going to be defensive games, they’re going to be battles. We just didn’t make good offensive plays. If we shoot 35% from the field, 25% from the three, we’re not going to win.”
