Syracuse vs. Cincinnati

No. 5 Cincinnati’s visit to the Carrier Dome marks the first time the Orange has welcomed a top-ten team since it hosted No. 1 Miami in 2002.
The Syracuse defense held the Bearcats well below their scoring average in the first half, allowing only one touchdown in each quarter for 14 points. Entering the game, Cincinnati was averaging 25.14 points in the first half and 14.28 points in the second quarter alone.
Senior nose tackle Arthur Jones tallied two tackles for a loss of yards to move into third on the SU career tackles for loss list with 38.5.
Junior tight end Cody Catalina posted his first career touchdown reception in the first quarter, on a nine-yard pass from graduate student quarterback Greg Paulus. Catalina finished with two catches for a career-best 26 receiving yards.
Sophomore running back Antwon Bailey recorded a career-long 30 yard reception in the first quarter to setup Syracuse’s first touchdown. Bailey has had a catch in every game this season. Bailey finished with three receptions for a career-best 39 yards and had 34 yards rushing on seven carries.
With his first reception of the game, senior wide receiver Mike Williams extended his streak of consecutive games with a reception to 27. Williams finished with four receptions for 34 yards.
Senior running back Delone Carter matched a career-high with two receptions for 12 yards. Carter also had 50 yards rushing on 19 carries.
Sophomore quarterback Ryan Nassib connected with six different receivers, completing 7-of-10 passes for 97 yards.
